I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. Revelation 1:18
Worthy is the Lamb
Consider what would be missing in your life if Christ had not been resurrected; if the Alpha and Omega did not hold the keys! You have much to be gratefull for and John’s writings in Revelation remind us that as followers of Jesus we’re destined for an eternity of thanksgiving for the Lamb who was slain (see Revelation 6:9-14).
Pause to consider these blessings:
• Because Christ died and rose, we can live in union with Him, drawing on His strength, wisdom, and love: “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20).
• Because Christ died and rose, we can live for Him, dedicating ourselves to the pursuitof His will and the advancement of His kingdom: “And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raisedagain” (2 Corinthians 5:15).
• Because Christ died and rose, we can live as His representatives, extending His presence into the world by the power of His Spirit: “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us” (2 Corinthians 5:20).
• Because Christ died and rose, we can live to glorify Him, responding with gratefulnessand wonder to the grace given to us: “You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20).
Now celebrate with a glad heart as you join the angels of heaven in declaring: “worthy is the Lamb who was slain.”
